Five opportunities your child should not miss

MBS · Todos los espacios del Montessori British School son obras de arte, que contagian a los estudiantes con su creatividad.

We asked Claudia Díaz, Montessori British School principal, about the five most important things that children should learn when they are young, and this is what she answered:

    Languages:
Today the world is very demanding: companies want to be global and need executives who can communicate across continents and understand cultural differences. And, in addition, learning another language requires time and patience, something that many adults do not have. That is why at the Montessori British School 4 languages are studied and internationally certified: English, French, Mandarin, and Spanish.

    Music:
It is proven that studying music develops more areas of the child’s brain linked to reasoning and language, and that the neuronal process is potentiated. This is one of the reasons, Claudia affirms, for our results in the different international tests: not only did we achieve the highest results in Colombia in the seven IGCSE tests—the best known around the world—, but also 5 out of 6 of our students received the Distinction recognition. Music is rigorously studied at this prestigious campus, and every child, without exception, becomes a member of a musical group.
conocidas alrededor del mundo—, sino que 5 de 6 estudiantes recibieron el reconocimiento Distinction. En este prestigioso plantel se estudia la música con rigor, y cada niño, sin excepción, llega a integrar un grupo musical.»

    Carácter:
Without a doubt, it is proven that the traits of those who succeed catapult them to success. The best news is that character can be taught: just like at the Montessori British School, where classes are designed for this purpose, and parents are actively.

    Health:
The Science program at the Montessori British School seeks for students to live in harmony with their bodies, with the food they eat—healthy and distant from processed foods—, and with more natural and environmentally friendly practices. Food is the cornerstone of health and should be taught as such from an early age.

    Body expression:
Our body is the home of the soul and needs to be full of energy to bring forth our ideas and thoughts. The children at the Montessori British School learn to love their bodies and the importance of exercise. It is proven that people communicate more with their bodies than with speech, and that is why the body is our great ally to achieve success.
